We’ll also explore colloquialisms, digraphs, and how to identify vowel and phonic mixes. There will be a deeper dive into the rules of syllables, accents, and phonic sounds, helping to refine your ability to lip read across various linguistic contexts.

Additionally, you will gain important insights into reading body language and facial expressions, two critical components of effective lip-reading. We’ll work with real-world challenges, such as interpreting speech in group settings, with beards or mustaches, and in noisy environments. Practical communication strategies for social settings is also covered, along with techniques for lip reading in media, including TV shows, movies, and theater performances. Throughout the course, you’ll learn clues to help develop your ability to identify sound movements without relying on every single word, fostering a more intuitive, confident approach to speechreading.
